SHANNON LEE MORRISON (Baashkinegaa bawiik) (Sturgeon Clan)

It is with great sadness that the family of Shannon Morrison announces her passing on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2013 at the Falls Memorial Hospital in International Falls, Mn.
She was born Dec. 18, 1973 in Lac La Croix First Nation, Ont. to Albert and June Morrison.
She lived in Lac La Croix most of her life, moving to International Falls in 1998.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her visits with her children and grandchildren. She also liked attending pow-wows and hunting deer.
Shannon leaves behind her siblings, Dennis (Roseanne) Sr., Darlene, Roger, David (Arlene), Jeff (Crystal), Sharon, Kimberly, Albert (Michelle), and JoyAnne (Dave); partner, Mike Sadewasser; children, Christine Ottertail (Brian), Jason Ottertail Jr., Felicia Morrison-Sadewasser, Dylan Sadewasser, Kayla Ernest, Brandon Ernest, and Madison Sadewasser; and grandchildren, Malik and Malizay.
Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was predeceased by her parents; grandparents, Clara and George Ottertail, and Ida Morrison and Gilbert Oshawe; aunt, Janet Oshawe; and uncles, Ernest Ottertail, Clarence Oshawe, and Angus Oshawe.
A wake will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 from 1 p.m. at the Round House at Lac La Croix First Nation.
A traditional burial service will follow on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013.
The pallbearers will be Shannon’s family and friends.
