SERENA NORMA ANDY

With deep sadness, the family of Serena Andy, born Dec. 11, 1975, announces her passing into the spirit world on June 7, 2005 at the Health Science Centre in Winnipeg, Man.
Serena will be forever remembered and missed by her children, Mikey, Annabelle, Rolanda, and Victoria of Big Grassy First Nation; her father, Norman Andy of Big Grassy; her sister, Tammy Morrison of Nestor Falls, Ont.; maternal grandmother, Alice Hoard (Danny) of Atikokan, Ont.
Also surviving are her aunts, Sylvia (Adrian) of Winnipeg, Man., Sandra of Vancouver, B.C., Nicole (David) of Courtney B.C., Tina and Babes of Atikokan, Ont., and her fiancé, Mike Laverdure, and his two children, Nicholas and Maya of North Dakota; nieces, Vanessa, Kelli, Kayla, and Summer Dawn; and nephews, Quinton, Isaiah, and Ryan Copenace.
Serena also leaves behind numerous cousins, extended family members, and close friends from Onigaming and Big Grassy First Nations.
She is predeceased by her mother, Victoria Andy; sister, Isabelle Archie; husband, Roland Shebagegit; paternal grandparents, Olga and John Andy; and maternal great-grandmother, May Kokum Kelly.
Serena cherished her children and devoted her life to care for them, and she very much enjoyed attending pow-Wows. She also enjoyed spending time talking and laughing with her friends.
She will be best remembered by the way she shared, cared, and laughed with others.
A wake will be held Friday, June 10, 2005 at Onigaming. Traditional funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2005, with Elder Robin Greene officiating.
The pallbearers will be Serena’s family and friends.
