SARAH TANIA PELLETIER-GUTTA

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Sarah Tania Pelletier-Gutta on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013.
Born March 16, 1972 in Thunder Bay, Ont., Sarah was the first of five children born to Carolyn (nee Rinne) and Fern Pelletier of North Branch, Ont.
Sarah grew up a true “country girl” at their rural family home—picking wildflowers, catching fireflies in mason jars, besting everyone in family game nights, rocking out to ’80s music, and teasing her younger siblings mercilessly.
She attended Sturgeon Creek Elementary School and then graduated from Rainy River High School with academic distinction. Fascinated with the human mind, Sarah went on to obtain an Honours BA in Psychology and an MA in Clinical Psychology from Lakehead University and the University of Manitoba.
A work in progress, and her ultimate goal, was the completion of her Ph.D.
Sarah’s greatest joys in life were her two beloved children, and spending time with her family and loved ones.
Sarah had a profound spiritual belief, and felt God’s presence in the natural world around her. She looked forward to summer canoe trips, picnics at Lake of the Woods, and hot saunas at the family camp on Warnica Lake.
She also loved literature and mythology, and brought alive for her children a magical world of fairies, elves, and pirates.
Sarah was a highly-intelligent and articulate woman, whose life was lost far before she realized her full potential.
Sarah is survived by her children, Nadia and Lucas, and their father, Mike Gutta; parents, Fern and Carolyn Pelletier; siblings, Simone Gunn (Nathan), Nathan Pelletier (Beatrice), Mia Pelletier (Justin), and Aimee Pelletier (Brian); paternal grandmother, Annette Pelletier; and many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.
The family is comforted by the knowledge that she is at peace and reunited with her maternal grandparents, August and Aili Rinne, and her aunt, Barbie.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be to a children’s charity of your choice.
