RUTH VIOLET LOWES

It is with great sorrow that the family of Ruth Lowes announces her passing on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Ruth was born May 1, 1931 in Fort Frances to Axel and Violet Selin.
She was united in marriage to W.A. “Bill” Lowes on July 29, 1955 and together they raised three children. They were married for more than 49 years.
As a young woman, Ruth took a positon at the local clinic, where she worked for five years before moving to Indian Affairs. There, she served as secretary for the district manager for 25 years.
After retirement, she and Bill enjoyed travelling with Hilda and Bob in the winter and spending summers at Little Raspberry Island. They enjoyed many days fishing on Lake of the Woods.
She loved playing cards at the Sister Kennedy Centre with LaDonna Klem. She also was a good cook and had a real knack for pies and tarts; she often shared her treats with her friends at Sister Kennedy.
Ruth leaves behind her daughter, Helen, and husband, Bruce Williams, and their daughter, Erin Williams; and daughter-in-law, Margaret Lowes and her son, Brad Lowes and wife, Terra, and great-grandchildren, Emily, Lia, and Brett Lowes.
