RUTH SAUVE
Ruth Sauve passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2007.
She was born Nov. 27, 1925 in Fort William, Ont. to Jack Fraik and Mary Pretulac Fraik. Ruth went to school in Westfort and Stanley before the family moved to Fort Frances, Ont. in the early 1930s.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Marie Sauve, Alexes Sauve, Georgie Picard, and Catherine Sauve. She also is survived by her grandchildren, Rebecca Labreque and Alyce Wood.
Knox United Church was just being built and Ruth remained a member through remodelling, additions as the church stands today. She never transferred to another church.
She also was a volunteer all of her life in Fort Frances and Thunder Bay. When her mother passed away in 1971, Ruth returned to Thunder Bay.
In 1987, she moved into the Village of the Good Shepherd. It has been her home ever since. She was one of the original “Rug Rats” and a tenant director of Lakehead Christian Seniors Apt., Inc.
The village gave her the opportunity to help cook and bake for special occasions through out the years.
According to her wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place.
