RUSSELL CARKNER CONE JR.

It is with great sadness that the family of Russell Carkner Cone Jr. announces his passing on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 at home in Fort Frances, Ont.
Russell was born Wednesday, April 15, 1931 in Fort Frances. He received his schooling in Mine Centre, Ont. and Fort Frances.
He had worked as a millwright in Ontario and in various states in the U.S.
He had several hobbies, which included prospecting and mining. He also was a private pilot, and had his float licence and small engine licence.
He loved to spend time at Shoal Lake with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved to travel with his family and friends.
As well, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time in the bush.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Helene; son, Kevin Cone of Mountain Iron, Mn.; and daughter, Brenda (Cone) Heski and Bob of Eveleth, Mn.
Also surviving are his grandchildren, Meganne and Abby Cone, Jesse Suihkonen (Gina), and Jocelyn Suihkonen; great-grandchild, Israel Cone; sister, Gwen (Cecil) Saville; step-children, Kathy (Steve) Taylor, Barbara Wepruk (Mike Lee), and Dale Wepruk; step-grandchildren, Kurtis and Nick Wepruk; and sisters-in-law, Mary Haines and Ginny (Lee) Beattie.
He was predeceased by his parents, Russell Cone Sr. and Lehla (McMillan) Cone; his first wife, Joyce (Kotterman) Cone; brother, Kenneth Cone; and brother-in-law, Garth Haines.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Pastor Brian Keffer officiated, followed by interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
The pallbearers were John Bell, Bradley Beninger, John Callan, Stan McMillan, Marshall Coull, and Warren McMillan.
The honourary pallbearers were all of Russell’s grandchildren.
