Russell A. Fisher, of Emo, Ont., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. at the age of 98.
Russell was born on the family farm on May 17, 1909 to the late Charles and Elizabeth Fisher. The family farm was to be Russell’s home for the next 94 years.
Russell served on many agricultural boards over the years, and was one of the first farmers to introduce Charolais cattle to Rainy River District.
He was united in marriage to Mary Dorthea Gadd on Oct. 25, 1943 and together they celebrated 64 years of marriage.
Russell is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughter, Gail and Keith Paterson; and son, Kenneth and Evelyn Fisher, all of Emo, Ont.
He also is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Russell (Donna) Paterson, Patty (Randy) McNally, and Charlene Fisher; and great-grandchildren Brandon Paterson and Paige McNally.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Russell was predeceased by his three brothers and four sisters.
As per Russell’s request, there will be no funeral service. Interment in Emo Cemetery.
