Ruby McDonald, 86, of Emo, Ont., passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at the Emo hospital in Emo.
Ruby was born June 10, 1917 in Emo to Charles and Rennie Brigham. She was united in marriage to Willard McDonald in 1936 and together they raised their sons in the Emo area.
She was a member of the Knox United Church in Emo and the Emo Rebekah Lodge.
She was predeceased by her husband, Willard, in September, 1993; her son, Ross, in 1998; brothers, Milford, Marvin, and William Brigham; sisters, Dorothy Wilson, Leila Hele, and Pat McDonald; as well as her parents, Charles and Rennie Brigham.
Ruby leaves behind her son, Robert McDonald of Winnipeg, Man.; grandchildren, Shane (Pam) and Wade (Cindy) McDonald; great-grandchildren, Mathew and Tyler McDonald; and daughter-in-law, Marilynn McDonald.
Also surviving are her brother, Herb Brigham; sisters, Shirley King (Elroy Douglas), Ev (Herman) Loveday, Lou (Joe) Cayou, Sylvia Hyatt (Tim Rowe), and Elsie Skinner; brother-in-law, Ken McDonald; sisters-in-law, Ardell Brigham and MaryLou Brigham; brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Ann Tattric; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Monday, April 5, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Knox United Church in Emo, with Rev. Barbara Miller officiating.
Cremation has taken place in Thunder Bay, Ont., and interment in the Emo Cemetery will take place at a later date.
The honourary pallbearers were Bruce Brigham, Andy Brigham, Gerald Brigham, Doug Brigham, Don Loveday, Brad Hyatt, Myrna Miller, and Brent Hyatt.
