Roy Lee Galusha

Roy Galusha, 76, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged in Fort Frances, Ont., formerly of Barwick, Ont., passed away Monday, June 3, 2002 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Feb. 3, 1926 in Piney, Man. to the late Edwin and Nettie Galusha. Roy moved to Bergland, Ont. at an early age, and a few years later to Barwick.
On Sept. 20, 1949, he was united in marriage to Joyce Paterson.
Roy raised his family on the farm, and he enjoyed logging and trucking, which he did for many years. He attended Emo Knox United Church in Emo, Ont. for many years.
Roy was a very kind man, and a loved father and grandfather.
He was predeceased by five brothers and four sisters.
Roy is survived by his wife, Joyce Galusha, of Barwick, Ont.; six children, Christopher Galusha and wife, Pat, of Fort Frances, Ont., Kathleen Haveling of Calgary, Alta., Peggy and husband, Ken Mason, of Devlin, Ont., Ruth and husband, Barry Waugh, of Thunder Bay, Ont., Jim Galusha and wife, Wendy, of Emo, Ont., and Bill Galusha and wife, Lori, of Fort Frances, Ont.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He also is survived by three brothers, Glen Galusha of Devlin, Ont., Kenneth Galusha of B.C., and Jerry Galusha of Sleeman, Ont.; four sisters, Cora Sellman, Patsy Hughes, and Irene Stromness, all of Fort Frances, Ont., and Colleen Johnson of Roseau, Mn.; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. at the Emo Knox United Church in Emo. Rev. Frances Flook will officiate, with interment in Chapple Cemetery in Barwick.
Pallbearers will be Roy’s grandsons, Darryl Galusha, Nathan Galusha, Joshua Mason, Anthony Mason, Ryan Mason, Jamie Galusha, and Jake Galusha.
