ROSS WEBB

It is with deep sorrow and sadness that the family of Ross Sydney Webb announces his passing on Monday, April 23, 2007 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre in Thunder Bay, Ont.
Ross was born in Glenavon, Sask. on Aug. 17, 1916 to Wilbert and Laura Webb. He received his education in Saskatchewan, moved to the Fort Frances, Ont. area as a young man, and worked in various jobs prior to joining the RCAF in 1941.
He did his tour of duty in Great Britain as a wireless operator in Lancaster bombers.
Following the war, Ross worked at Canada Customs in Fort Frances and retired in 1979. During this time, he met and married Elma Valentine.
Ross, Brian, and Joleen lost Elma with great sadness in 1978.
Ross is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn; daughter, Joleen (Doug) Brown; stepdaughters, Noella Strain of Kenora, Ont. and Valerie (Wendell) Whitter of Prince Albert, Sask.; and stepsons, Joe (Barb) Hickerson of Thunder Bay, Ont., Jack (Suzane) Hickerson of Bellville, Ont., Patrick (Kelly) Hickerson of Kelowna, B.C., and Raymond Hickerson of Kelowna, B.C.
Also surviving are his brothers Roy, (Helen) Webb of Regina, Sask. and Dennis Webb of Fountain Valley, Calif.; beloved sister, Joyce Davies of North Vancouver, B.C.; as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Elma Valentine; son, Brian Webb; brothers, Leslie Webb of Camrose, Alta. and Carl Webb of Edmonton, Sask.;
and parents, Wilbert and Laura Webb of Regina, Sask.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Knox United Church in Fort Frances, with Rev. Jill Warner officiating.
