ROSS HOWARD SELMAN

In loving memory of Ross Howard Selman, 77, of Sleeman, Ont., who passed away Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999 in Winnipeg, Man.
Ross will be greatly missed by his children, Glen of Dryden, Gloria (Harley) Bye of Dryden, Delores (Bill) Romyn of Stratton, Terry (Karen) of Brandon, Man., Dennis (Kathy) of Fort Frances, Roger (Cheryl) of Dryden, and Tracey (Len) Moen of Rainy River; 15 grandchildren, Anita, Glen Jr., Glenda and Tamara Selman, Shannon Bye, Teryl (Derek) Takats, Tammi (Robert) Davy, Colin Romyn, Ryan and Larissa Selman, Christy and Troy Selman, Justin, Shauna, and Kendra Moen; four great-grandchildren, Sydney and Logan Takats, and Robby and Jared Davy; and one brother, Norman (Erna) of Richmond, B.C.
He was predeceased by his wife, Helen in 1981; a daughter, Mary; a son, Robin; brothers, Henry, Lawrence, Delbert, and Curtis; and sister, Delia.
Ross was born Jan. 4, 1922 in Rainy River, Ont., to the late Ellie and John Selman. He spent all of his life in the Rainy River area. Ross worked for CN as a railroad engineer for 35 years, retiring in 1987.
He loved his farm, playing cards, and visiting with his family and friends.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999 at 11 a.m. at Knox United Church in Rainy River. Pat White officiated, with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Rainy River.
Pallbearers were Tony Hamm, Donny Selman, Reg Kaus, Abby Desrosiers, Guy Newman, and Gerald Fadden.
Honourary pallbearers were Howard McKenzie, Fred Hartnell, Victor Tolen, Carl Peters, Bob Ewald, and Charlie Johnson.
