Rosemary Carol Snider, of International Falls, Mn., passed away peacefully at home on Friday morning, Sept. 16, 2011.
Rosie was born on Sept. 12, 1946 in Cass Lake, Mn. to Olivia and Leo Blomker. She was united in marriage to Roy “Snicker” Snider on May 26, 1989.
Rosie was an amazing woman. A self-professed “Jack of All Trades,” having had numerous occupations in her adult life; her favourites being nurses’ aide and convenience store clerk at the local Freedom Valu Stores.
She was an extremely hard-working individual, a fiercely loyal friend, and a self-sacrificing wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
Rosie enjoyed knitting, biking, reading, telling family stories, and writing memoirs for her grandchildren, as well as visiting with family and friends. Besides her family, one of her greatest joys were her animals: Miss Honey, Winter, Li’l Bit, and Molly.
She was predeceased by her parents, Olivia and Donald Welker; birth father, Leo Blomker; and mother-in-law, Dora Snider.
Rosie is survived by her loving husband, Roy “Snicker” Snider of International Falls, Mn.; daughters, Penny (Darcy) Faragher of Fort Frances, Ont., Candy (Dominic Meyer) Deason of International Falls, Mn., and Nicky (Kevin) McCourt of Roseau, Mn.; grandchildren, Tysen (Ashley Nault) Faragher, Ashley (Jacob) Trinkner, Aaron (Holly Brunner) Meyer, Ryan Faragher, Amber Deason, and Kyle and Kasey McCourt; and great-grandchildren, Ashton and Devin Trinkner, and Candy Deason.
Also surviving are her sister, Dona (Perry) Gessell of Aurora, Colo.; brother, Darrell (Cathy) Welker of Hutchinson, Mn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Green-Larsen Mortuary, with pastoral minister Pat Bjorum officiating.
A luncheon will follow at the VFW.
