“Rose” Coward

Rose Coward, 74, of 851 Colonization Rd. W., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Saturday, May 30, 1998 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
She was born March 5, 1924 in Stuartburn, Man. to the late John and Rose Makarenko. Rose moved as a child with her family to Fort Frances in 1926, and worked as a clerk at Lerman’s Clothing Store for many years.
In 1955, she was united in marriage to John Coward.
Rose really enjoyed going to their cottage on Hook Island, and spending time with her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Coward (Feb. 8, 1989); three brothers, Syd, George, and William Makarenko; and four sisters, Lena Poirer, Nettie Donovan, Mary Summerville, and Dora Rogazinski.
Rose is survived by one brother, John Makarenko of Fort Frances; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial service was held Tuesday, June 2, 1998 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Rev. Patrick Playfair officiated, with interment in Fort Frances Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Honourary pallbearers were all of her family and friends.
