It is with deep sadness that we announce Ronald “Ron” Leo Sinclair, 75, of 233 Elizabeth St. W., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday July 10, 2007 at his home.
Ron was born Nov. 6, 1931 in Rainy River, Ont. to the late William and Lottie Sinclair.
We celebrate the life lived by my husband and our dad, Ron Sinclair, whose love, kindness, patience, and humour will remain deep in our hearts forever. His soft-spoken nature, yet determined will to live, gives us strength to go on.
He loved to be outdoors enjoying the views of mountain peaks and the beauty of the oceans. His cabin at the farm was one of his favourite places to be.
His pastimes included hunting, hockey, woodwork, building bird houses, and enjoying the beauty of nature, especially the brightly-coloured flowers, birds, and wildlife. He was a man of strong character whose love of family and deeply-rooted spiritual beliefs guided the way he lived his life.
Dad’s love of life was demonstrated by the way he celebrated and played with his children and extended family. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and a true friend.
Our memories of him will never fade.
He was predeceased by eight brothers, John, Robert, Tom, Norman, Gordon, Melvin, George, and Edward; and three sisters, Florence Adams, Violet Sandmoen, and Katie Sinclair.
Ron is survived by his wife, Constance “Connie” Sinclair of Fort Frances, Ont.; six children, Susan Pilatzke of Thunder Bay, Ont., Karen and husband, Keith Fifield, of Fort Frances, Ont., Patty and husband, Vince Noro, of Newmarket, Ont., Tim Sinclair and wife, Debbie, of Thunder Bay, Ont., Dawn and  husband, Blair Mackie, of Edson, Alta., and David Sinclair and wife, Sharon, of Red Deer, Alta.; nine grandchildren, Troy and Trevor Pilatzke, Melanie and husband, Ahn Nguyen, Travis Sinclair, Garret and Tenaya Mackie, and Marc, Naomi, and Natasha Sinclair; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Todd Nguyen.
