Ronald Jack, 63, of Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation, passed away Monday, July 14, 2008 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
He was born July 14, 1945 to Stewart and Mary Jack in Kenora, Ont. He lived in the Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation all of his life.
Ronald loved to be outdoors, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on the lake. He worked as guide for many years before losing his leg to diabetes.
When he was younger, he enjoyed playing hockey and pool, as well as participating in other sports.
Ronald leaves behind his wife, Shannon Martin of Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation; children, Gwen Louise Jack of Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation, Caroline Jack of Kenora, Ont., Joseph Jack (Jeanette) of Nestor Falls, Ont., Dean Jack (Beatrice) and Nicole Skead of Kenora, Ont., Ron Jack (Douidet) of Dryden, Ont., and Andrew Suave of Cornwall, Ont.
Also surviving are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Bruyere; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Stewart and Mary Jack; brothers, Howard and Harold Jack; sisters, Ida Jourdain and Olive Jack; son, Patrick Jack; daughters, Delia Bryant and Barbara Kewaykabo; and stillborn daughter, Rhonda Jack.
A wake will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2008 from 3 p.m. at the Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation gymnasium.
A traditional funeral service will be held in the morning of Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation gymnasium, with Elder Frank Green officiating.
Interment will take place at the Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Kevin Jack, Tom Big George, Bill Kelly, Harold Big George, Tom (Sackie) Indian, Joe Copenace, Dean Jack, and Clarence (Chuck) Kelly.
The honourary pallbearers will be Ronald’s family and friends.
