Ronald David Jourdain, 53, long-time resident of Vancouver, B.C., passed away unexpectedly there Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998.
Ronald was born Dec. 26, 1944 in Fort Frances, Ont. to Lillian Jourdain of Couchiching First Nation, Ont. He was raised in Couchiching but later moved to Vancouver in his youth, where he worked as a logger until his passing.
Ronald was predeceased by his mother, Lillian; one uncle, Mathew Jourdain; one aunt, Irene Jourdain; his maternal grandparents; and John and Marie Jourdain, all of Couchiching.
He is survived by a brother, Marvin Fering of Bemidji, Mn.; two sisters, Lori Bates of Leech Lake Band of Chippewas, Mn., and Audrey Strecker of Austin, Man.; one uncle, Mark Jourdain, and one cousin, Corrine Jourdain, both of Couchiching First Nation; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Cremation took place in Vancouver.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 14, 1998 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church at Couchiching First Nation, with Father Lawrence Conlon O.M.I. officiating.
Honourary pallbearers will be all of his family and friends.
