RONALD DAVID ERB

With great sadness, the family of Ron Erb announces his passing on Sunday, June 28, 2009.
Ron was born Oct. 14, 1940 in Kitchener, Ont. and grew up in Elmira, Ont.
After graduating from Waterloo Lutheran University in 1963, he moved to Fort Frances, Ont. and taught English and French at Fort Frances High School until his retirement in 1996, then he continued as an occasional teacher until February of this year.
Ron demonstrated high standards of academic excellence and contributed greatly to his profession by improving upon what he believed to be best for the students, education, and teachers.
He exhibited discipline, integrity, and honour in all aspects of his life.
He generously spent many years devoted assisting his colleagues through his work with the teachers’ federations, and to being a director of the annual Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship.
Ron was a tireless volunteer for many local charitable organizations and spent countless hours helping others.
Ron was predeceased by his father, Douglas; mother, Elizabeth; and his brother, Douglas Jr.
He is survived by his sons, Grant (Tara) of Bathurst, N.B. and Craig (Christine) of Vancouver, B.C., and their mother, Louise, of Fort Frances, Ont.; as well as four granddaughters, Alexandra, Sydney, Christina, and Kayla.
Cremation has taken place and Ron was laid to rest by his family.
