Roger Edward Mainville

Roger Edward Mainville, 71, of Couchiching First Nation, Ont., passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre in Thunder Bay with his loved ones at his side.
Roger was born Oct. 7, 1934 in Fort Frances, Ont. to the late Dan and Madeline Mainville, and had lived all his life there. He had worked on construction, was a forestry crew boss, and also was a guide.
He enjoyed fishing, playing cribbage and baseball, and also was an umpire. He loved spending time with his young friends.
He will be sadly missed by his children, Lance Mainville, Warren Mainville and wife, Cecilia Gilbeau, all of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Darlene and husband, Chris, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
Also surviving are his siblings, Danny Mainville and wife, Myra, Marcella Mainville, Stewart Mainville, Lester Mainville, Louis Mainville, Ronnie Mainville, Blanche Crowe, and Elaine Singleton; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dan and Madeline Mainville; wife, Glenda Mainville; daughter, Pamela; son, Wade; sister, Betty; and brother, Clarence.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 28, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at Couchiching. Fr. Francis Pudicherry officiated, followed by interment in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
Friends visited with the family on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006 from 5 p.m. at the Bingo Palace in Couchiching First Nation, with vigil prayers offered at 7 p.m.
The pallbearers were Kevin Morrisseau, Brent Perreault, Clinton Perreault, Jason Perreault, Ian Perreault, and Derrick Mainville.
The honourary pallbearers were Clifford Leguard, Chancey Grover, Tim Bruyere, George Bruyere, Allan Singleton, and Stevie Mainville.
