ROBERT (SONNY) MEDICINE JR.

Robert (Sonny) Medicine Jr., 39, of 1008 Scott St., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005.
He was born Oct. 6, 1966 in Emo, Ont. to Robert and Eliza Medicine.
Sonny attended Donald Young School in Emo and later graduated from Falls High School in International Falls, Mn. He lived most of his life in the area, hanging out with his friends.
Since his graduation, he worked for various businesses in the area. Sonny also was very talented and a wonderful artist, and he also enjoyed music very much.
Sonny was a good uncle to his niece, Cory Medicine; and cousins, Shirley Kampa, Barbie Kaushagen, Vonnie Trott, and Robbie Rosten. He will be missed very much by his family and friends.
He was predeceased by two brothers in infancy, Roger and Wayne Medicine; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Sonny is survived by his parents, Robert (Sr.) and Eliza Medicine of Fort Frances, Ont.; one son, Pedro; one sister, Brenda and husband, Paul Hyatt, of International Falls, Mn., one niece, Cory Medicine; two nephews, Dakota and Taylor Hyatt; and cousins Shirley Kampa, Barbie Kaushagen, Vonnie Trott, and Robbie Rosten.
A traditional burial ritual was held Monday, Dec. 5, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Manitou Rapids First Nation gymnasium. A spiritual advisor officiated, with burial in Manitou Rapids First Nation Cemetery.
A wake was held on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005 from 3 p.m. at the Manitou Rapids First Nation gymnasium.
The pallbearers were Agnes Grover, Glen Medicine, Tony Bombay, Robin McGinnis, Justin McGinnis, and Paul Hyatt.
The honourary pallbearers were Cory Medicine, Dakota and Taylor Hyatt, Barbie Kaushagen, Vonnie Trott, and Robbie Rosten.
