ROBERT HURST ANDERSON

Robert Hurst Anderson, 76, of High Point, Brooksville, Fla., passed away at Oak Hill Hospital. with his family by his side, on Thursday, May 15, 2014.
Bob was born in Grand Forks, N.D. on Oct. 4, 1937 to Clifford and Catherine (Harmer) Anderson Sr.
Bob graduated from the North Dakota School for the Deaf in Devils Lake, N.D. in 1959 and entered the printing field. He was a 32-and-a-half year employee of the (Minneapolis) Star Tribune, retiring in 2000.
After his retirement, Bob bought a Vermeer Stump Grinder and started his own business. He sold his machines and retired from stump grinding in 2004.
Bob married the love of his life, Lynda Wreggitt, on Jan. 5, 1991 and they settled in Brooklyn Park, Mn. Bob and Lynda also spent a few weeks each year at their home in High Point.
After Lynda retired in 2009, they spent winters at their Florida home. In 2011, they sold their Brooklyn Park home and became permanent Florida residents.
Bob joined the Sons of the American Legion, which he greatly enjoyed. In 2013, Bob joined the Hernando High Point Volunteer Fire Department. He loved being on the fire department and was very proud that he was able to serve his community.
Bob’s wit and spontaneous sense of humour will be missed by all who knew him.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Clifford Anderson Sr. and Catherine Jones; his brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Gayle Anderson; and his mother- and father-in-law, Norma and William Wreggitt.
Bob is survived by his wife of 23 years, Lynda; his four children, Jean (Burt) Ware and children, Trent and Danielle, of Ramsey, Mn., Maria (Randy) Breitbach and children, Joshua and Rebecca, of Indianapolis, Ind., Gary Anderson of Winsted, Mn., and Robert (Jill) Anderson Jr. and children, Tyler and Alexia, of Blaine, Mn; brother, William (June) Anderson of Shoreview, Mn.; and his former wife, Annah Gaona of Cedar, Mn.
Also surviving are his brothers-in-law, Don (Helen) Carroll of Kayesville, Utah, Jerry (Jacquie) Carroll of International Falls, Mn., and Brian Wreggitt, Bruce Wreggitt, Roy (Karen) Wreggitt, and Ray (Wendy) Wreggitt, all of Fort Frances, Ont.; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ken and Judy Mapes of Brooklyn Park, Mn.
Bob leaves an incredible legacy of family and friends, and will be dearly missed.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Hernando High Point Volunteer Fire Department in Brooksville.
A memorial service also will be held in Minneapolis, Mn. in early July (a date and location to be determined).
