Bob Thomson, 53, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Monday, July 30, 2007 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances with his family by his side.
    He was born June 6, 1954 and had lived in Fort Frances all of his life.
    He owned and operated the local Dairy Queen for more than 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, building and flying airplanes, and spending time with his family and friends.
    He is survived by his wife, Beverley; daughters, Candice and Christin Thomson, and Trish McBride; mother, Audrey Thomson; grandchildren, Kyle and Kurtis Hill; and sisters, Sheryl and Fred Laverdure, all of Fort Frances, Ont., and Lana Thomson and Stuart of Port Dover, Ont.; and brother, Jack (Marla) Thomson of Fort Frances, Ont.
    Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Benjamin Christian, Sara Christian and her daughters, Gabi and Anna, and Jason Thomson and his son, Treydon; aunts and uncles, Valerie Henry, Gerald and Laurel Langtry, Norris and Gertie Langtry, and Gary and Marg Thomson; father- and mother-in-law, Cecil and Sunny Duffy; sister-in-law, Barb and Ron Johanson; and brothers-in-law Leonard, Larry, and Nicole, Terry and Wanda, and Gerald and Jenn Duffy and their families.
    Bob was predeceased by his father, Elgin; and uncle, Herb Henry.
    A visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
    Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Knox United Church in Fort Frances. United Church mMinister Peggy Mason will officiate, with a private interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
    The pallbearers will be Willie Pruys, Dan Livingston, Larry Cousineau, Darell Bradley, Jim Asleson, and Patrick Lavigne.
    The honourary pallbearers will be Bob’s golfing buddies and fellow pilots.
