It is with deep sadness, the family announces the passing of Robert Edgar Thomas Bliss, age 96, of Mine Centre, Ontario at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ontario on Sunday, October 17, 2021.

Robert was born July 2, 1925, in Fort Frances, son of the late Edgar (Ed) and Marcela (Kushierz) Bliss of Mine Centre.

Robert was a World War II Veteran having served overseas with the Royal Canadian Army Algonquin Regiment and he was wounded in the Battle of Hochwald Forest.

A quiet hardworking man. He loved the land, hunting and fishing and taking photos.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph Addington (Constance), David (Katie), George Louis (Ruth), Daniel (Merle); sister Norma (Kenneth) Ryan; his daughters Roberta Abelman and Rita Allaire

He is survived by his sister Frances (Frank) McKiel and numerous children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A visitation of Robert’s life was held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. He will be cremated and laid to rest in Riverview Cemetery.
