ROBERT DOUGLAS COOKE

Robert Douglas Cooke, 37, of Emo, Ont., passed away suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014.
Bob is survived by his parents, Brenda and Randy Cooke of Emo, Ont., and his brother, Dan, of Red Lake, Ont.
Bob is also survived by the loves of his life, nephew, Kalan, and niece, Abby; as well as his grandmother, Elsie Cooke of Dauphin, Man., and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Bob was predeceased by his grandparents, Elmer (Jenny) Durston and Arthur Cooke, and his aunt, Judy Clifford, all of Dauphin, Man.
Bob’s passing has left a hole in the hearts of his family members and close friends. Bob always was known for putting the needs of others ahead of his own, and his greatest passion in life was the desire and ability to help others in any way he could.
Bob had many special close friends, including Carolynne, Steph, Todd, Ryan, and Kaisa, who are mourning his loss among many others.
Bob was a very special and caring person, and affectionately was known as “Uncle Bob” to several children of his closest friends. He was a very special uncle to Paige, Noah, and Jack, Teagan and Linkin, and Dakota and Jack.
After graduating from Fort Frances High School, Bob went to Confederation College in Thunder Bay, Ont. and then to St. Claire College in Windsor, Ont. to pursue a career as a paramedic.
After graduation, he accepted a position with the Windsor-Essex EMS, where he began to hone his skills. He later transferred to Simcoe County EMS in Barrie, Ont.
In southern Ontario, Bob met some of the most amazing people, whom he talked about on a regular basis. Selena and Sean and others remained very close through the years and over the miles.
Bob returned to Emo in 2008 and accepted a position with the Rainy River District EMS, where he continued to gather close friends amongst his co-workers. His partners, Dave and Steph, were especially close to Bob and he thoroughly enjoyed working with them.
He was very proud of his profession.
Bob was able to purchase his childhood home upon his return to Emo, and spent numerous hours with his Dad completely renovating the home to make it his own.
Bob loved his community and always wanted to help others in any way he could. He was an active member of the Emo Recreation Council and his vision was to help establish a skateboard park for the youth in the area.
A funeral service will not be held, however, a private committal service will be held at a late date.
