The family wishes to announce the passing of Bob LaFreniere, 82, on Aug. 1, 2016 at his home in Fort Frances with his wife by his side peacefully.
Bob was born on June 18, 1934 and spent his whole life in Fort Frances. He worked for nine years on the C.N.R. and 28 years in the paper mill, retiring in 1992.
He also ran a janitorial service for 12 years and built his home at 1008 River Road West and was an avid hunter, camper, snowbird, and a real Mr. Fix It.
He was united in marriage to Joyce (nee Dunbar) for 57 years, and had three wonderful daughters: Sandy (Bogdan) Stalmach, Corinne (Robert) York, and Christine (Tom) Veert.
He will be greatly missed by his seven grandchildren, Ryan (Leah), Jordan (Sarah), Brittany York, Anthony (Liz), Kelsey (Brandan) Veert, Whitney and Matthew Stalmach, plus two great-grandchildren, Ava and Jase.
He is also survived by one brother, Raymond (Audrey), from Dryden; brothers-in-law, James Forsyth, from Arizona, Jerry Dunbar (Susan) in Texas, Jack Dunbar (Marlene) in Proctor, MN, Robert Dunbar from International Falls, MN, and Ted (Kathy) Dunbar in Texas; sister-in-law, Donna La Jambe, of International Falls, MN.; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Laura and Edmond LaFreniere, and brother- and sister-in-laws William Graten (Marguerite) and Adrien LaFreniere (Marlene).
As per Bob’s request, there will be no funeral service.
