It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of their son and brother, Robert (Bob) Gerald Armstrong, 33, of 427 Sixth St. W., Fort Frances, Ont., suddenly on Friday, June 6, 2003 at his residence.
Bob was born Oct. 24, 1969 in Fort Frances and had lived here all his life. He had worked as a truck driver and was known to be a very good one. He also was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, waterskiing, and motor biking.
He was a wonderful uncle to Matthew, whom he enjoyed spending time with and treated him as his own.
Bob is survived by his mother, Judy Armstrong; father, Don Armstrong; and brothers, Wade Armstrong and Scott (Bev) Armstrong, all of Fort Frances, Ont.
Also surviving is his nephew, Mathew Armstrong, of Kamloops, B.C.; four uncles, Doug (Eila) Halvorsen of Emo, Ont., Danny (Carol) Halvorsen of Thunder Bay, Ont., Terry (Diana) Halvorsen of Nestor Falls, Ont., and Erwin (Bea) Armstrong of Fort Frances, Ont.; aunt, Carole (Bill) McLean of Devlin, Ont.; grandfather, Al Halvorsen of Emo, Ont.; and 11 first cousins, Todd and Patti Halvorsen, Guy and Cory Halvorsen, Sherry, Tammy, Cindy, Todd, Holly, Annisa, and Charmaine.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Katherine Halvorsen, and Lyla and Joe Hodge.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Rev. Marietta Marshall officiated, with interment took place in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Friends visited Tuesday, June 10, 2003 from 7 until 8 p.m. at Green Funeral Home.
The pallbearers were Kevin Hyatt, Dwight Williamson, Vernon Cogger, Todd Dustin, Todd McLean, Todd Halvorsen, Guy Halvorsen, and Cory Halvorsen.
The honourary pallbearers were all of Bob’s family and friends.
