It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Rita Kielczewski, who passed away at her residence at 1108 Third St. E., Fort Frances, Ont. on April 26, 2005.
Rita was born May 19, 1935 in Fort Frances to the late Fred and Agnes Crowe.
On April 7, 1953, she married Allan Kielczewski. They first made their home at Rat River, Rainy Lake, where they were commercial fishing together.
In the early ’60s they moved their commercial fishing company to Namakan Lake. Rita and Allan worked together there, running a commercial fishery in the summer, a hunting camp in the fall, and a trapline in the winter.
Rita’s cooking kept guests coming back year after year. Rita also was well-known for her generosity and hospitality. She welcomed many children into her home during the summers while her children were growing up.
She always will be remembered for her great sense of humour and love of cooking, and her taste for Caesars. She loved living at the lake and loved to go bike riding with her sisters.
There were three “Twisted Sisters” and Rita was one of them.
She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Agnes Crowe; brothers, Wallace, Tiny, Danny, and Ben; grandchildren, Jessica and Seth Kielczewski; granddaughter, Misty Bahr; mother-in-law, Anne Kielczewski and father-in-law Frank Kielczewski; and brothers-in-law, Paul and Margaret Kielczewski, and Alton Kielczewski.
She is survived and greatly missed by her husband, Allan; sons, Larry (Bonnee), Terry (Kathy), and Gary (Judy); daughter, Kathy May and Thorrot; grandchildren, Cole, Kalan, Jacob, Sarah, Laurie, Venisha, Holly, Katrina, Blayne, and Jamel; and great-granddaughters, Tatum, Gracie, and Ella.
Also surviving are her brothers, Dado and Tom Crowe; sisters, Anna Marie Bruyere, Doreen Allan, and Betty Lou Larson; her niece and nephew, Debbie and Dan Bird, and Nina and Seth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held Monday, May 2, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Fort Frances.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to the charity of your own choice.
