It is with great sadness that the family of Rita Delbo announces her passing on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at Rainycrest in Fort Frances, Ont.
Rita was born Sept. 5, 1922 in Nipigon, Ont.
She was raised in Fort William, Ont., where she met the love of her life, Joe Delbo. They were united in marriage on Oct. 28, 1944 and had just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Together they moved to Fort Frances in 1945, settling to raise their family.
Rita loved spending time at the cabin on Rocky Inlet, always keeping a close eye on Joe and his many projects.
She was a life member of St. Mary’s Catholic Woman League, and had been actively involved in both the C.W.L. and the church for more than 50 years.
She leaves behind her husband, Joe; daughters, Rosalee and husband, Bill MacDonald, of Thunder Bay, Ont., Gina and husband, Paul Milkovich, of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Lori Delbo of Fort Frances, Ont.; granddaughter, Susan MacDonald; brother, Leo Moro and wife, Lora, of Thunder Bay, Ont.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rita was predeceased by her parents, Luigi and Teresa Moro; brother, Reno Moro; and sister-in-law, Jean Moro.
A funeral mass will be held Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances, with Fr. Francis Pudicherry officiating.
Interment will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances.
