Rilla Diann Korpi, 71, of International Falls, Mn., passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Rilla was born Jan. 24, 1945 to Frank and Millie (Jackson) Hoppe in International Falls. She married Einar W. Korpi on Nov. 23, 1963.
Rilla enjoyed playing canasta, softball, and bowling, as well as hunting, the ladies’ hunting shack weekend, and going to casinos.
She also loved following her grandchildren in anything they participated in.
She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Leonard Sly and Otis Hoppe; son, Glen Korpi; and sister, Phyliss Hoppe.
Rilla is survived by her husband, Einar Korpi; sons, Kendall (Kim) Korpi and Chad Korpi; daughters, Patti (Jonah) Cox and Kim (Todd) Cunningham; son-in-law, Rob Woolsey; grandchildren, Malarie (Ian) Woolsey Hodgins, Sierra (Joe) Woolsey Van Nes, Ashe Woolsey, Cassidy Frank, Ryder Woolsey, Kane Cunningham, Destiny Woolsey, Parker Korpi, Cameron Cunningham, Jacob Korpi, Carli Cunningham, and Gabbi Korpi; and great-grandchildren, Alexz Johnson, Richard Van Nes, Spencer Jantzen, Calen Van Nes, and Scott Van Nes.
She also is survived by her brothers, Arvid (Dorothy) Hoppe, Herman (Donna) Hoppe, Noel (Von) Hoppe, and Gilbert (Lu) Hoppe; special sister-in-law, Helen Hoppe; friend/sister, Marlys Hanson; and special lap dog, “Muffin.”
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 2-6 p.m. at the Elks Lodge #1599 in International Falls.
