Richard passed away on December 30, 2024, at the age of 81.
He was born in Kitchener, Ont., on November 14, 1943, the youngest of four boys.
He is predeceased by his parents John Hans Seidel and wife Willena Milar and his first wife Joan Gollick.
He is leaving his present wife Nicole Therrien; son Scott and Mark and their children; his brothers Paul, Peter and Carl; our good friends Bob and June Durnin, Mark and Marina Greenwood, Gajith, Triselle, Thiga and Sheeta.

Richard had multiple jobs over his life time starting with mining in Labrador, Newfoundland, at age 16. Then moved to truck driver and finally OPP constable around 1970 until his retirement in 1998 after 28 years of service.
He was very proud to have work as a policeman for the OPP. He always liked to entertain our guests with multiple good and bad memories during his career.
Rick has had multiple accidents and health problems over the years. Rolling a cement truck, getting in the ditch with his motor home, running between telephone pole and cable, hitting an OPP cruiser and getting pinned down under his lawnmower in a ditch full of water. He broke his neck during a fall, his hip twice, and fractured his rib and back. He also had heart valve replacement, stent and pacemaker and two mini strokes. He was often compared to a cat with nine lives.
Rick loved golfing with his best friend Ron Eyelson. He loved to read books. He had a fantastic memory which made for long discussions with friends, especially Bob.
We were able to travel over the U.S. and Canada, Portugal and Tangier multiple times over the years and saw very unique scenery and events.
He needed to finish his last year in Emo Long Term Care where he received tremendous good care by everyone.
Richard’s last wish was to be cremated, no funeral and buried with his mother in Kitchener.
He will be missed by many people.
Arrangements entrusted to Northridge Funeral Home Ltd., Emo, Ontario.
