RICHARD FRANK SCHULZKI

Richard Frank Schulzki passed away on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003 in Emo, Ont. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and the entire community.
Richard was born in Blankensee, Prussia, on April 3, 1929 to the late Bernhard and Maria Schulzki. He moved to Canada in 1951.
Initially, he worked as a lumberjack in Sapawe, Ont., and a miner in British Columbia. In the mid 1950’s he began work as a carpenter and continued to practice his skills until his death.
He was an excellent builder and a fine wood worker. Richard married Rosalinda (Rose) Thome in 1955 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. With his young family, he moved to Emo, Ont. in 1962 where he purchased a farm.
He enjoyed and loved nature tremendously and spent much time managing the forest and caring for the wildlife on his property.
He also loved gardening and spending time at the lake. He was an active member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Emo. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Richard was predeceased by his parents and five brothers in Germany. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Rosalinda, his daughter, Rosemaria Sharp and her husband, David, his son, Bernhard Schulzki and his wife, Brigitte. His seven grandchildren will also miss their kind and gentle grandpa.
Richard also leaves to mourn his passing, one brother, Albert Schulzki and his wife, Anna, of Murillo, Ont., and his sisters, Ann Dankwart, sister Susanne, Theresa Materna, and Toni Schlag, and her husband, Paul, all of Germany.
Many nieces, nephews and cousins will also miss this kind and wonderful man.
Prayers and visitation for Richard Schulzki were held at St. Patrick’s church in Emo on Monday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. Richard’s funeral mass took place at 10 a.m. Sept. 2, 2003, with Father James Panikulam officiating. Richard was laid to rest in the Emo Cemetery.
The honourary pallbearers were Al Thome, Peter Thome, John Thome, Eugene Thome, Syd Curtis, Ted Corrigan and all of his friends.
The pallbearers were Danny Schulzki, Dale Wepruk, Karl Schulzki, Andy Thome, Leonard Jordens and Michael Sharp.
Because he walked this earth, the world was a better place.
Richard Frank Schulzki was loved and will be missed by many.
