It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a wonderful wife, loving mother, auntie, treasured Nanny and loyal friend.
Rhonda was born in Fort Frances on September 30, 1961, to the late Herbert and Elsie Dustin.
Rhonda’s love story with Murray began close to home, Murray was the boy next door, and the two began dating in 1976. They married in 1981 and built a life together filled with love, family, and countless memories. In 1983, they welcomed their beloved son, Justin, who became the centre of their world.
Family was everything to Rhonda. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her boys and, in later years, being Nanny to Bryson and Cole. She shared an especially close bond with Bryson and was always there for him, no matter what. Her love was constant and unconditional.
In her younger years, Rhonda also had a great love for horses and enjoyed being part of the Saddle Club winning many trophies. Her yearly hunting trips with her boys was something she always looked forward to. Some of Rhonda’s happiest times were spent at the trailer, surrounded by her Lake Despair family, where many special memories and friendships were made.
Rhonda was predeceased by her parents Herbert and Elsie; her father-in-law Vinton; her brothers John and Dewayne; her sister Judith; her sister-in-law Jean; and, most heartbreaking, her beloved son Justin. While her family’s hearts are heavy with her loss, there is comfort in knowing after missing Justin so deeply, they are finally together again.
Rhonda leaves behind her loving husband Murray; daughter-in-law Lauren (Jeremy); and her cherished grandsons Bryson and Cole; mother-in-law Arlene. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law Kevin (Debbie) and Dwayne (Tracy); sister-in-law Roxann; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members.
To those who loved her, Rhonda was the best. The best wife, the best mother, and the best Nanny. Her family was her whole heart, and the love she gave them will continue to be felt in the memories, stories, laughs and moments they shared together.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at La Verendrye Hospital for the compassion, kindness, and exceptional care they provided to Rhonda and her family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rhonda’s memory to Riverside Health Care.
In keeping with Rhonda’ s wishes, no formal service will be held.
