REVEREND GEORGINA JANE CONNOR

It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Reverend Georgina Connor, age 89, on Saturday May 21, 2022, at Rainycrest Long-Term Care Home.

Georgina was born on February 6, 1933, to George and Mabel Calder. She married the love of her life Brian on May 1, 1954; they raised five sons: John (Sandy), Jim, Gary (Heather), Kevin (Tanja) and Kelly (Cindy). She is predeceased by her husband Brian, and her many siblings.

Georgina dedicated her life to caring for the sick and elderly before returning to University at age 66 to receive her degree in Theology. She became ordained as a minster where she served the community of Fort Frances at St. John’s Anglican Church for 17 years. She became of devoted follower of Christ after beating a rare type of cancer that gave her a 50/50 chance of surviving. Georgina held a presidency of the auxiliary at Rainycrest in a career that spanned about 30 years.

Georgina loved coffee, blueberry pancakes with ice cream, but mostly her family.

She will be greatly missed by her sons; grandchildren Dayle, Ian, Michelle (Carmon), Katie (Dan), Kelsey (Jay), Meghan (Alex), Bailey, Kaleli and Noah; as well as her five great-grandchildren.

Into thy hands, O Lord.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church in Fort Frances, Ont. Interment will take place in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
