Rennie John Barnard Jr. passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital in Thunder Bay, Ont.
Rennie was born May 9, 1973 in Fort Frances, Ont. to Rennie and Margaret Barnard. He lived in Fort Frances and attended school here.
In 1991, he moved to British Columbia working alongside his brother, Paul, as a drywaller. In 2001, the boys returned to Fort Frances and continued to work together until Paul’s passing in 2005.
In his spare time, Rennie enjoyed being outdoors; he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He leaves behind his father, Rennie Barnard, and Karen Johnson of Fort Frances, Ont.; mother, Margaret Barnard of Surrey, B.C.; brother, Jeridt and fiancée, Amanda, of Fort Frances, Ont.; and grandmothers, Mary Barnard of Fort Frances, Ont. and Gena Oster of Stratton, Ont.
He also leaves behind aunts and uncles, Shirley Barnard and Jerome Clare of Medicine Hat, Alta., Denis and Colleen Barnard of Fort Frances, Ont., Vicki and Orest Kocubia of Dryden, Ont., Jack Oster, Kathy and Ken Huffman, Kosie Tathen, Janie Oster, Mary Ellen, and Phil Sanders, all of the U.S.A., Patrick Oster of Stratton, Ont., Michael Oster of B.C., Gelaine and Vinchenzo Skalla, and Leo Oster, all of the U.S.A., Dan and Donna Oster of B.C., Len Oster of the U.S.A., and Don and Helen Oster of B.C.; as well as numerous cousins.
Rennie was predeceased by his brother, Paul, on March 1, 2005; uncle, Jim Barnard; and grandfathers, Jim Barnard and John Oster.
A visitation was held Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008 from 7-8 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008 at 1p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, ON. Pastor Ken Johnson officiated, with interment in the Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
The pallbearers were Jeridt Barnard, Pat Oster, Marty Gibson, Mike Hubert, Randy Armstrong, and Steve Ballan.
The honourary pallbearers were Bill Whalen and Vince Pennarun.
