RANDY ERNEST BRANNAN

Randy Ernest Brannan spent his final moments in his home, with family and friends by his side, on the afternoon of April 11, 2026. He was 69 years old.

Born on December 12, 1956, in Emo, Ont., Randy spent his childhood in North Branch, the youngest of five children. As an adult, Randy lived and worked across Canada, spending many years in White River, Ont.,and in Hamiota, Man. Of all the places he came to know, Randy would always feel most at home in Dryden and the Rainy River District.

Randy enjoyed the work he did as a Heavy Equipment Operator and took pride in the fact that he could operate just about any machine you put in front of him. Most recently, Randy worked for New Gold.

More than his work, Randy’s pride was in his family. He carried the weight of any trial or tribulation his siblings, children and grandchildren endured on his shoulders and cherished every moment he could spend with them.

Randy was pre-deceased by his parents Elizabeth and Leonard; siblings Melvin, Doug, Carol and Mildred; son Tim; and granddaughter Shaylene.

Left to remembered him are his partner Betty Westover and her family; daughters Patty (Kevin) Hatfield, Janette Brannan, Angelina Brannan; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and many good friends he loved to share a cup of coffee and a laugh with.

Randy’s family wish to extend their gratitude to neighbours and friends, Nancy and Bob Fretter and Kevin McLean, for their quick response and gracious support during Randy’s final moments. Thank you, also, to the first responders.

Per Randy’s wishes, cremation has taken place, with private internment to occur at a later date. A celebration of life will take place from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2026, at 84 St Charles Street, Dryden, Ont. Friends and family unable to attend are encouraged to honour Randy’s life and memory, in their own way, however they feel called to.
