RALPH RHULE

Rhule

Our beautiful father passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont.
Dad was born Oct. 6, 1931 in Pittsburgh, Pa. He enlisted with the United States Air Force at a young age and was a Korean War veteran.
Dad was stationed in Fairford, England, where he met the girl of his dreams, Marjory, and they married in 1953 in Cheltenham, England.
Together, their journey would take them to the U.S. and back to England before finally settling down in Winnipeg, Man., where they raised five children, Elizabeth, Cindy, Robin (Bill), Devon (Grahame), and Christopher.
Dad was a family man and even though many of his children settled in far-off places, that only strengthened his love for them.
Five children weren’t enough and many years ago, they “adopted” a new son, Oboya and his family from Sudan.
Dad was kind, compassionate, and loved to help those in need. He was Winnipeg’s best “chauffeur” and his services were called on often.
Dad’s passion was in sales and serving people. He worked for various companies before finally retiring from T. Eaton Company in 1996.
Shortly after celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary, his beloved wife passed away. Dad was heartbroken but managed to carry on with a smile on his face.
The final leg of his journey brought him to Fort Frances. As sad as he was to leave Winnipeg, his friends, and home behind, he settled into Rainycrest with grace.
Dad was predeceased by his wife, Marjory; brother, Harry; and his parents.
He will be sadly missed by his eldest brother, Robert; his children; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A tea in celebration of Dad’s life was held Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Rainycrest.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to Rainycrest Auxiliary c/o 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3T2 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
