Sadly, the family announces the passing of Phyllis Angus, 93, of Emo, Ont., and formerly of Chapple Township, Ont., on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016 at the Emo Health Centre with her family by her side.
Phyllis was born Dec. 14, 1922 in Solsgirth, Man. to Algernon and Lily Judson.
She was united in marriage to Wesley Angus on June 30, 1947.
Phyllis loved to read–Shakespeare, Mark Twain, Mazo de la Roche, and history; as well as do cryptic crosswords, gardening, photography, and snowshoeing. Most of all, she loved when friends or family stopped in for coffee and a chat.
Phyllis was a member of the Chapple Women’s Institute for many years.
Phyllis is survived by her sister, Jessica (Al) Stewart; daughter-in-law, Connie Angus, grandchildren, Christa Angus, Wesley Angus, and Jack Angus, and great-grandchild, Waylon White of Whitecourt, Alta.; and daughter-in-law Brenda Angus, and grandchildren, April Cormack (Darren Blattner) of Emo, Ont., Bonnie (Scott) Abraham of Wabigoon, Ont., and Allan Cormack of Victoria, B.C.
She also is survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Wesley (1983); son, Jerrold (2015); and siblings, Vi (Bert Strachan), Henry (Aileen Grant), Linton (Marion Kivel), Laurie (Dorothy Mason), Jack (Lois Cain), and Elsie (Cliff Wilson).
The honourary pallbearers are Jonathan and James Blattner, Charles and Christopher Abraham, and Wesley and Jack Angus.
A time of fellowship was held Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016 from 1-3 p.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo.
Interment will take place in the Barwick Cemetery at a later date.
