PHILIP ROLLAND WOOD

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Philip Rolland Wood on March 19, 2003. His memory will be cherished by his wife, Adaline; daughter, Dorthea and husband, John; along with grandchildren, Tyler and Mikara.
Phil also is survived by a brother, Clinton (Marlene) Wood of Logan Lake, B.C.; and a sister, Shirley (Ken) Davis of Fisher Branch, Man.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ira and Dorothea Wood; along with his stepmother, Vida Wood; and two brothers in infancy.
Philip was born July 23, 1932 in Rainy River, Ont. He married Adaline (Hasby) on Dec. 28, 1963 in Fort Frances, Ont., and then moved to Atikokan, Ont. Phil lived and worked in many communities in Northwestern Ontario in the trucking industry.
Phil and his family moved to Nestor Falls, Ont. in 1971. From there, he continued to drive truck for many contractors throughout Rainy River District.
Phil, often known as Flipper, enjoyed his family, relatives, and close friends. He loved life, and will be remembered for his caring and selfless spirit. Those who knew him were fortunate to have him in their lives.
He will be sadly missed, but not forgotten.
Cremation has taken place. In compliance with Phil’s wishes, we graciously decline any flowers and ask that donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
The Northwest Funeral Alternative Inc. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
At Philip’s request, there will be no funeral.
