PHILIP LAUZON

Philip Lauzon, 69, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2002 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances. He was born Dec. 15, 1932 in Rainy River, Ont. to Antoine and Florrie Lauzon.
Phil moved to Fort Frances in 1960 and has lived here since. He had worked for Boise Cascade paper mill until he retired in May, 1991 after 38-and-a-half years of service.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodcrafts, carpentry, and especially camping.
Phil was united in marriage Dec. 28, 1960 to the former Yvette Larocque, who survives along with their four children, Allan Lauzon of Fort Frances, Ont., Leola Mesdag (Mark) of Fort Frances, Ont., Tina Birnie (Scott) of International Falls, Mn., and Raymond Lauzon of Fort Frances, Ont.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Craig, Melissa, and Blake Mesdag, and Ashley Birnie; two brothers, Albert Lauzon (Michelle) of Fort Frances, Ont., and Charlie Lauzon (Bessie) of Winnipeg, Man.; six sisters, Clara Lundstrom of Kamloops, B.C., Florrie Rahn and Violet Schram, both of Fort Frances, Ont., Judy Rissanen of Dryden, Ont., Shirley Armstrong (Sylvester) of Rainy River, Ont., and Edna Brown (Henry) of Pinewood, Ont.; sister-in-law, Violet Morrison of Fort Frances, Ont.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Antoine and Florrie; daughter, Carla May; brothers, Ben Morrison, Willie Morrison and his wife, Lily, Gordon Morrison, and Jim Morrison; sister, Ruby Gaudry and husband, Aime; and two infant sisters.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Way Roman Catholic Church in Pinewood, Ont., with Fr. James Panikulam officiating.
Honourary pallbearers will be all of Phil’s grandchildren and friends.
