In loving memory of Peter Alfred Bedard, 79, of 1316 Sixth St. E., Fort Frances, Ont., who passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
Peter will be greatly missed by his wife, Phyllis; daughters, Marilyn (Ben) Romyn of Devlin, and Linda (Francis) Brigham of Fort Frances; grandchildren, Tim (Tammy) Romyn of Devlin, Debbie (Randy) Pattison of Fort Frances, Darryl (Anna) Brigham of Calgary, Alta., and LeAnne (Luc) Quesnel of Fort Frances; and great-grandchildren, Jason Thomson, Dylan Pattison, Tyson Romyn, Tyler Romyn, Tarran Romyn, Cole Quesnel, Joshua Quesnel, Jesse Quesnel, and Jeremy Peter Brigham of Calgary.
Also surviving are his extra special niece, Colleen (Ted) Beck of Hopkins Bay and their children, Clint (Bridget) Beck and Clayton Beck and friend, Trish; sister, Joan Butt of Nanaimo, B.C.; sister-in-law, Evelyn Bedard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ferninand and Rose Bedard; brothers, Herman Bedard and Albert Bedard; sisters, Blanche Parenteau, Melena Fraser, Cecile McDonald, and Lorraine Hanzuk; and by many nieces and nephews.
Peter was born Feb. 12, 1920 in Fort Frances. He worked in the local papermill for 42 years, retiring as a millwright in 1982.
He was a Dieppe veteran, member of the Fort Frances Royal Canadian Legion Br. #29, and Past Deputy President of the Oddfellows.
Peter enjoyed hunting, fishing, and travelling, especially in Canada, Europe, and the U.S.A. His true joy came from spending time with his grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Friday, Jan. 14, 2000 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Rev. Patrick Playfair officiating.
