Pearl McFee passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003 at the Maples Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, Man.
Pearl was predeceased by her husband, Vaughn, in 1971; sister, Gertie; and brother, John. She leaves to cherish her memory son, Darren and wife, Audrey; and grandchildren, Tyler and Larissa.
Pearl was born July 30, 1916 in Fort Frances, Ont. to Alex and Olga Kurronen and grew up on the family homestead in Miscampbell. In 1937, she married Vaughn McFee and continued to live in Miscampbell.
Pearl worked on the farm until Vaughn’s passing, and worked at Rainycrest Home for the Aged in Fort Frances until her retirement in 1982. In 1987, she moved to Winnipeg.
Pearl enjoyed oil painting, dancing, gardening, visiting with her friends, and keeping fit. She spent many years in Winnipeg as a member of the Kinsmen Reh-Fit Centre, where she would walk many miles at a time.
Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Pastor Garth Clifford will officiate, with interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
