It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Paul Hogan, 84, of Fort Frances, Ont., on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001. He was born Jan. 29, 1917 in Emo, Ont.
Mr. Hogan had lived most of his life in Rainy River District. He enjoyed living at his lake home for many years with his beloved wife, Josephine. He had worked for Eaton’s of Canada for 27 years, retiring in 1979.
Paul loved to spend time with his family, grandchildren, and friends. He also leaves behind a special friend of many years, Kathleen (Kay) Boucher.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #29 in Fort Frances.
He was united in marriage to Josephine Mallory on June 29, 1940, who predeceased him on Feb. 13, 1986. He also was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Marie Hogan; sisters, Vera Anderson and Evelyn Joseph; and brothers, Ivan Matheson, Eddie Hogan, and Reginald Hogan.
Paul is survived by one daughter, Pauline Concilla of Winnipeg, Man., and her daughter, Lisa Marie; two sons in Fort Frances, Bradley and his sons, Chad and Troy, and Murray, wife, Laurie, and Murray’s children, Joleen and Josh; and two great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Gavyn.
Also surviving is his sister, Irene Dworsky of California; brother, Leo Hogan of British Columbia, and Gordon Matheson of Fort Frances, Ont.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit Friday, Sept. 28, 2001 from 7 until 8 p.m. at Green Funeral Home, with prayers being offered at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home. Father Eugene Whyte O.M.I. will officiate, with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Lunch will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion.
Pallbearers will be Doug Rousseau, Gerald Polz, Rob Mallory, Rick Collett, Gordon Matheson, and Ron Kloosterman.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to Rainycrest Home for the Aged Memorial Fund, 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3T2.
