PAUL BUNDGAARD

It is with much sorrow that the families of Paul Bundgaard announce his sudden passing on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Ste. Anne Hospital.
He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 21 years, Vivian, and their children, Tony (Susan) and Angela (Rick).
Also left to mourn are his brother, John (Darlene); sisters, Ketty (Vern), Sonja, and Connie (Gary); as well as eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many, many nieces and nephews.
Also mourning is his special family in Steinbach, Yvon, Megan, Jacob, and Logan. His two special dogs, P.D. and Oscar , also will miss their “Poppy.”
He was predeceased by his parents, Jens and Inger; and grandson, Desmond.
Paul was born Jan. 11, 1955 in Virden, Man. Upon graduation, he went to work for the CN Railway, where he remained until his passing. CN moved him about, where he lived in Emo, Ont. and Thunder Bay, Ont. before finally settling in Steinbach, Man. in 1997.
He met Vivian in Emo in 1981 and they were married in Fort Frances, Ont. on July 31, 1987.
Paul loved life and lived it to its fullest. One of his many pleasures was being outside tending to his vegetable garden. He also took great pride in his many varieties of flowers, shrubs, and landscaping his beautiful yard that included a fish pond with a waterfall.
Paul enjoyed watching NASCAR and his Montreal Canadiens, and really enjoyed getting together with family and friends for cards and board games, and especially Gilles and Anita for a great game of Texas Hold’em.
Prior to cremation, a funeral service will be held Monday, July 28, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Birchwood Funeral Chapel (150 Penfeld Dr. in Steinbach), with viewing one hour prior to the service.
Dr. Wilfred Kaethler, Paul’s neighbour and good friend, will be officiating.
The honorary pallbearers will be John Bosma, Terry Lamoureaux, Kurt Miller, Dave Neilson, Gilles Tetrault, Yvon Godard, Rick Reid, and Sam Bombay.
A light lunch will be served following the service. Everyone is welcome.
