Patsy Martha Hughes, 79, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010.
She was born Jan. 16, 1931 in Piney, Man. but lived most of her life in Rainy River District.
In her early years, Patsy worked as a store clerk and waited tables at various businesses.
On Aug. 25, 1951, she was united in marriage to Alvin Esmond Hughes.
Patsy was cared for by her surviving five sons, Ken (Cheryl), Herb (Dawn), Ron, Kevin (Tammy), and Dale (Amber). She also was admired by all of her six grandchildren, Chad, Tanya, Christie, Melissa, Ashley, and Jacklynn, and great-grandchildren, Gordon, Kara, and Paxten.
Patsy also will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews across the district.
Also surviving are her brothers, Jerry and Ken; sisters, Connie and Irene.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alvin in 1985; parents, Edwin and Nettie Galusha; and her siblings, Johnny, Donny, Pauline, Shirley, Cora, Laura, Roy, Glenn, Bonnie, Jack, and Elra.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010 from 11 a.m. -2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
A private family interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Friends are invited to join the family for a tea at the East End Hall following the visitation.
