It is with great sadness that the family of Patsy Buttner announces her passing on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont.
She was born on Oct. 15, 1937 in St. Boniface, Man. to Joe and Doreen Gray but moved to Ontario with her family as a young child.
She met and married Robert Buttner in 1956. They resided in Nipigon, Ont. for five years, then relocated to Fort Frances, where she lived for the rest of her life.
Pat worked at Rainycrest for more than 30 years until her retirement in 2002.
She loved her flower gardens, and adored all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Juanita (Fred) Otto and Melissa Lockheart; and sons, Wayne, Charles, and Andrew Buttner.
Patsy also is survived by her grandchildren, George Buttner, Jason McGowan (Lesley), Cynthia Gibbons (Dylan Pyke), Bridgid, Hilary, and Maddie Lockheart, Paul Buttner( Sam), Amy (Chris Danielson), and Brittany Otto; great-grandchildren, Gwen, Rowena, Mason, Allora, and Shepard McGowan, Willy, Johnny, and Hailey Gibbons, Mia, Andrea, and Jojo Danielson, and Hailey Buttner; and a very special friend, Peggy Bruyere.
A memorial service will be held Monday, May 8, 2017 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances, with Fr. Alan Albao officiating.
The honourary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
