Patricia McDonald, 73, of Emo, Ont., passed away at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003.
She was born Oct. 3, 1929 in Chapple Township, Ont. to the late Charles and Flora “Renie” Brigham.
“Pat” will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Kenneth McDonald of Emo, Ont.; two children, Eldon Reed of Kansas City, and Myrna (George) Miller of Crozier, Ont.; three grandchildren, Jamie McDonald and friend, Kim Frenette, and Melanie Dawn Miller, all of Kenora, Ont., and Chad Miller of Minneapolis, Mn.; and two great-grandchildren, Jasmin and Alyssa.
She also is survived by seven sisters, Ruby McDonald, Elsie Skinner, and Evelyn and (Herman) Loveday, all of Emo, Ont., Shirley King, Leila (Marvin) Hele, and Sylvia Hyatt and friend, Tim Roe, all of Fort Frances, Ont., and Lucille and (Joe) Cayou of International Falls, Mn.; one brother, Herb Brigham of Edmonton, Alta.; two sisters-in-law, Ardell Brigham and Marilou Brigham of Emo, Ont.; two brothers-in-law, Stan McDonald and Rod (Lillian) McDonald; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Loveday and Jean Bolen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters, Dorothy Wilson, and Laura and Opal Brigham in childhood; and three brothers, Milford, Marvin, and William (Billy) Brigham.
Mom was kind, compassionate, loving, and took great pride in her family. She liked a good conversation (visiting on the phone with family), country music, cooking, baking, and was an avid reader.
She was a very industrious lady who worked for many years at the Emo Hospital.
Funeral services took place Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church in Crozier, Ont., with Pastor Chet Cooper officiating. Interment will take place in Emo Cemetery in Emo at a later date.
Visitation was held prior to funeral services from 1 p.m. until service time at Victory Baptist Church in Crozier.
Pallbearers were Chad Miller, Jamie McDonald, Don Loveday, Doug Brigham, Ed Brigham, and Brad Hyatt.

Prov. 31 27:28–She looketh well to the ways of her household and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up and call her blessed, her husband also and he praiseth her.
