With great sadness, the family of Pamela Marie Hyslop announces her passing on Thursday, May 27, 2010 in Winnipeg, Man. after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Pamela is survived by her husband of 44 years, Blaine, and their four children, Terri (Theresa Ruhl and family), Christopher Hyslop and family, Scott Hyslop and family, and Jenn (Jennifer Harding and her husband).
Also surviving are one brother, Bob Readman (Carol) and family; three sisters, Nola Gochenour (Bill), Carla Harris (Brian), and Shelly Readman (Ron Yellowega) and their families; her best friend, Linda Kitowski (Doug) and family; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was predeceased by her mother and father, Bonnie and Percy Readman.
Pamela attended St. Mary’s grade school and Fort Frances High School. In 1966, she met and married Blaine and moved with him and their four children between Ontario and Manitoba, making many wonderful friends.
She had many jobs, but her favourite was the Hallmark Store in Thunder Bay, Ont., where she worked for 15 years alongside many dear friends.
She retired to Winnipeg along with her husband in June, 2002. Pam and her life partner, Blaine, loved to travel to sunny destinations.
Cremation has taken place according to Pam’s wishes.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Monday, June 14, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Timothy Church, 135 Forsyth Rd., in Winnipeg.
Pam said if you must bury something, let it be your faults and weaknesses. If you wish to remember me, do it with kind words or deeds to someone who needs it.
If you do all I have asked, I will live forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests in memoriam donations be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.
