It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved wife, sister, aunt, and best friend, Pam Carlson.
Pam was born Nov. 30, 1957 in Nakina, Ont. to the late Mary and James Murphy.
She passed away unexpectedly at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, with her family by her side.
Pam was employed at Rainycrest Long Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont. for eight years. She loved all animals, the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and puttering around her garden.
She was united in marriage to Gene Carlson on July 2, 1999.
Pam is survived by her best friend and loving husband, Gene Carlson; stepchildren Marlin, Chris, and Gina Carlson; and brothers, Jim (Wendy) Murphy of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Patrick (Carrie Lynn) Murphy and Sharon (late Lynn) McPherson of Fort Frances, Ont.
Also surviving are her in-laws, Murray (Gail) Carlson of Thunder Bay, Ont., Ed (Diane) Carlson of Emo, Ont., Lyal (Sherri) Carlson of Thunder Bay, Ont., Mary (Dave) Perrier-Walsh of North Bay, Ont., Laurie (Doug) Witherspoon of Devlin, Ont., Karen (Aurelio) Felice of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Debbie (John) Carlson of Emo, Ont.; mother-in-law, Helen (Edwin) Nelson of International Falls, Mn.; father-in-law, Doug Carlson of Emo, Ont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pam was predeceased by her parents, Mary and James Murphy; her loving brother-in-law, Lynn McPherson; and her niece, Jennifer Carlson.
Family and friends were received Thursday, March 26, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont., where funeral services were held Friday, March 27, 2009 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Frances Flook officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date.
The honourary pallbearers were Chris McPherson, Patrick “PJ” McPherson, Billy Witherspoon, Marlin Carlson, Ryan Murphy, and Michael Murphy.
