OLIVE (KERR) CHEZICK ERICKSON

Olive, also known to her family and her many friends as “Skip,” passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006 at the age of 87 at the Falls Good Samaritan Center in International Falls, Mn. after a lengthy illness.
She was born June 30, 1918 to Charles and Violet Kerr in Fort Frances, Ont.
In 1937, Olive met and married Lloyd Chezick of International Falls, who nicknamed her “Skip.” They had six children: Lloyd Jr., Wayne, Lois, Larry, Judy, and Joanne. They lived and raised their family in their home at 916 10th St.
Skip and Lloyd shared a love of the outdoors, especially Rainy Lake.
Following Lloyd’s death in 1959, Skip took a job as a cook for the Falls School District, where she worked until her retirement in 1980.
Skip married George Erickson in 1964. George and Skip loved fishing, camping, and spending time with family and friends. George passed away in 1996.
Skip was always willing to have a cup of tea and visit at a moment’s notice.  She was a member of VFW Auxiliary and Women of the Moose.
In addition to Lloyd and George, she was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Ross, Hugh, and Don Kerr, and sister, Viola Dittaro, all of Fort Frances, Ont.; and two grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Lloyd (Bernice) Chezick, Jr. of Rockport, Tex., Wayne Chezick of Mt. Iron, Mn., Judy (Glen) Gillette of Supply, N.C., and Lois (Jerome) Brekke, Larry (Linda) Chezick, and Joanne (David) Amerud, all of International Falls, Mn.; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by her sister, Lois Milette of International Falls, Mn.; and sister-in-law, Gladys Kerr of Fort Frances, Ont.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006 at 1 p.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in International Falls, with visitation at the adoration chapel one hour prior to the service.
Interment in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in International Falls.
