NORMAN (SONNY) STEELE

Norman (Sonny) Steele passed away Aug. 14, 2003 in Atikokan General Hospital at the age of 73.
He is survived by his wife, Helen, children, Larry (Rita) Steele of Fort Frances, Judy (Len) Anderson of Atikokan, Sandra (Orval) Armstrong of Fort Frances, Susan (Alan) Roy of Atikokan, Barry (Stacey) Steele of Atikokan, Gerry Steele of Fort Frances, and Tracey (Bill) McGowan of Kelowna, B.C.
He is also survived by sisters, Jean (Wes) Hayes of Crozier, Gladys (Maurice) Desserre of Emo, Peggy Larson of Kenora, Laverne (Ken) Desserre of Stratton, and brother, Bill Steele of Atikokan; as well as 15 grandchildren, Joey Anderson, Clint Steele, Lyle Steele, Jamie Anderson, Jason Happy, Chad Happy, Tasha Glover, Tanya McGowan, Bradly Steele, Tyler McGowan, Jessica Roy, Jennifer Tuomi, Taylor Steele, Katie Steele, and Chandler Steele; five great-grandchildren, Austin Strom, Jayden Glabb, Zack Strom, Sierra Happy and Miya Anderson.
A memorial service was held August 20, 2003 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Atikokan. Cremation took place, and the burial of ashes will take place at a later date, for family only.
Memorial donations may be made to the Atikokan General Hospital.
