NORMAN GRANT SHUTE

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Norman Grant Shute, of Reef Point, Ont., on Thursday, March 20, 2008 with his family by his side.
Norman was born Feb. 19, 1953 in Fort Frances, Ont. to the late Eldon and Ina Shute.
He was united in marriage to Iris Bragg on April 19, 1975. They resided in Devlin, Ont. before settling on Reef Point in 1997.
Norman was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, boating, cutting wood, hunting, and gardening. He spent his free time with his family and friends, and was especially proud of his four grandsons.
Norman was known for his gentle grace and sense of humour. He also was a very hard worker who took great pride in a job well done, both at his 33 years with the local mill and in every aspect of his daily life.
Norman was a son, a brother, a husband, a father, a grandfather, and a friend—each memory will be deeply treasured by those who knew him.
He will be forever lovingly remembered by the love of his life, Iris, of Reef Point; his three daughters, Andrea (Corey) Curtis and their boys, Chase, Caden, and Corson, of Emo, Ont., Angela (Jason) Aucoin and their son, Jarrett, of Alberton Township, Ont., and Amy Shute of Thunder Bay, Ont.; and his brothers, Bryan (Janet) Shute of Shebandowan, Ont., and Darold (Bonnie) Shute and Clifford (Barbara) Shute, all of Devlin, Ont.
Norman also is survived by in-laws, Norbert and Jean Bragg, Irwin (Elaine) Hughes, George Bragg, Donald (Joyous) Bragg, Charles Bragg, Carol (Don) Ewald, Murray (Jeanette) Bragg, Larry (Stacey) Bragg, and Melanie (Daniel) Jones; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Eldon and Ina Shute; stepfather, Francis Kerr; mother-in-law, Irene Bragg; and sister-in-law, Sheila Bragg.
As per Norman’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Family and friends will be received at the Devlin Hall in Devlin, Ont. on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 from 1-3 p.m. for a celebration of Norman’s life.
If desired, in memoriam donations may be made to the Fort Frances Community Chest or the Canadian Cancer Society c/o Northridge Funeral Home, P.0. Box 89, Emo, Ont., P0W 1E0.
